SVP Welcomes New Board Members

The Shenandoah Valley Partnership recently welcomed three new board members at the start of the fiscal year on July 1, 2024. The Board guides the organization in fulfilling its mission to facilitate regional and local economic development efforts through and in support of member jurisdictions, private partners and strategic alliances.

New Board Members include:

Mike Bender, County Administrator – Bath County
Mike has served as the Bath County Administrator since 2022. He came to the role with more than 28 years of experience in public service including serving as Division Commander for the Richmond, Va police department. Mike holds a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Tech and Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Courtney Thompson, President & CEO – Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce
Courtney has served in her current role for almost five years, but has been involved with the Chamber in some capacity since 2010. In addition to her role on the SVP Board, Courtney is also an active member of the Lead Generation Committee. She is a graduate of James Madison University.

Bill Wiley, Business Development, Howard Shockey & Sons
Bill has more than two decades of experience in real estate development, manufacturing and industrial projects and commercial services and currently serves as the lead Business Development contact in the Shenandoah Valley for Howard Shockey & Sons. Bill is a graduate of George Mason University.
