SVP’s Lead Generation Committee heard a presentation from new Valley Internship Experience Workgroup (VIEW) Project Coordinator Mary Sullivan at our August meeting.
Mary shared the ways in which the Region 8 VIEW collaborative and Virginia Talent and Opportunities Pathways (VTOP) work with local businesses to facilitate and support internships and co-ops.
VTOP was enacted by the VA General Assembly in 2019 as the Innovative Internship Fund and Program and rebranded in 2020 as V-Top with collaboration between the State Council for Higher Education Virginia (SCHEV), VA Chamber Foundation and VA Business Higher Education Council. It is a statewide initiative to expand student internships and other work-based learning opportunities in collaboration with Virginia employers.
