Earlier this year, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) announced the launch of a world-class custom workforce incentive program in partnership with the Virginia Community College System. This program will be a service-based incentive that will provide customized training and recruitment services to competitive, high impact, job-creation projects. The Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP) will remain available for those companies that want to execute their own workforce recruitment and training efforts. The choice between the new custom workforce incentive program and VJIP makes Virginia’s approach unique and is expected to generate more economic development wins for the Commonwealth.
